Yellow-Throat-Monkeyflower, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, California.
I have found a beautiful, thick patch of this colorful wildflower recently. Here I decided to focus on an individual plant – in the future, I think I will try to include the entire patch.

I’m not as big on flowers as many photographers. However, I like the black background here. My dad used to photograph flowers any chance he could.
Sure is a beautiful flower and capture Ron. Thanks for looking at my Eagles, shot a bunch more this morning.
Nice closeup! Looks sort of like a begonia. Is it fragrant? Any clouds yet? We had a front through here yesterday with 35 _40 mph gusts. Calm today in the 40’s. How’s the wx there?
I forgot to mention, the whole composition is beautiful. My favorite part in the picture is the way the light is hitting the leaf in the bottom left. What time of day was this taken?

Thanks everyone!
@ David – thanks, the background is my black polar fleece jacket.
@ Dennis You are welcome, those were great!
@ Dena It is cloudy and raining here this a.m., but not near as cold as they predicted – there isn’t any fresh snow on the mountain, and fortunately it isn’t blowing. Thanks.
Great shot and a good way to get a neutral background. Hopefully there’s been more rain there to get a great wildflower season. I’m headed to Phoenix this weekend for spring training guys with my sons, but I think it’s still a bit early there for flowers.

Thanks John! I was wondering how the Phoenix area was looking – might head out that way in a couple of weeks.
