I typically won’t post such a bad photo – but then again, I typically don’t see such a rare animal! These guys are usually nocturnal and rarely seen.
I always keep my camera ready to go by my chair except for today and it cost me a head on close-up. My camera wasn’t handy and then didn’t have a card in it, but still encouraging for future photo opps. I was pretty sure I have seen this guy at night with my flashlight, but I never could get a good look and thought it might be be a cotimundi.

I am glad you posted the photo, Ron. It is a treat to have seen this rare animal in the wild (particularly from an Australian!) – and what a magnificent tail!

He came in through the eves late at night and looked quite surprised to see us there. The kids that usually stay in that camp probably go to bed early 😉
