I was excited to see a such a rare and endangered animal as a baird’s tapir! We actually saw three. In addition to this one, we saw a mom with a baby. Corcovado National Park, Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica.

A red-capped manakin. This colorful little bird does a mating dance that looks just like Michael Jackson’s famous dance where he slides backwards. It is so funny, and mesmerizing to watch in person!

Happy New Year everyone! I tried to be a night owl last night but tapped out before midnight. 🙂 We did get a nice visit from our striped skunk.
