Eyelash palm pit viper (orange), Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica.

My reptile handler was very excited about this snake as he had never seen an orange eyelash palm pit-viper. This came about thanks to a call from a nearby farm to the handler. They told him what they found and said they were going to kill it unless he wanted it. I think he gives them something like $20 and takes the snake back to his property, where we can photograph it. Then he can release it in a safer location on his property. By the way, this was captured with my longest telephoto lens equivalent to a 1000mm full frame lens.
