Another new one of our little hooded skunk visitor at the year around water hole.

This morning at the Reflection Blind. It was too windy for reflections, but still nice for birds!

Hooded skunk. Set up for a little camera trapping last night. Have lots of ideas for this season, but keeping it simple for starters. We have two hooded skunks, and as of the night before, I can now confirm that we also have two stripped skunks – they were making a lot of noise! On occasion, we see a spotted skunk as well, but infrequently. The hooded and stripped pretty much ignore me now if we cross paths on the property.

Actually captured this photo as I sat in the lower photo blind Saturday night! Nice bonus to the birds. I didn’t need the blind for the moon as it isn’t scared of me… but maybe it should be.

Another one from my quick session in the lower blind Saturday night at the Desert Photo Retreat.

Between guests and other commitments, I haven’t had a chance to pick up a camera for a couple of weeks. Will a last minute cancellation changed that, so I went down to the lower blind for 30 minutes – gosh, it is so fun down there, I’m lucky to have such a place at my finger tips! I so love the background down there, it is just more a matter of what do a want to place in front of it! This is a mockingbird.

From now to December 15th we are offering 20% off all our fine art prints at our new website! This even includes metal prints which not only are rich in color, but arrive ready to hang. No need to mat and frame, just hang. And they are extremely durable, you can even wipe them down with a soft, damp cloth if they do get dusty. Plus, there has never been a better year to support the small business / artist, I know it is what we are doing this year. Thanks!

A gilded flicker here last week at the lower blind. We had two pair nest on the property last winter.
