Jackpot! A female salmon – the brown bears were throwing back in male salmon that caught. Southeast Alaska.

I have had a crazy couple of weeks and haven’t had a chance to post anything here, but hopefully I will be back to regular posting. This is another one I hadn’t shared before, a brown bear in Southeast Alaska scratching an itch while watching for salmon.

I have never been so far behind on my editing as I am now, but I’m getting caught up! So I’ll be sharing some new photos from 2023 that I hadn’t shared before now that they are adjusted. Here are a couple of first summer brown bear cubs nursing in Lake Clark National Park, Alaska.

Check out this cool brown bear nabbing a chum salmon last summer in Southeast Alaska.

A busy beaver from last summer in Lake Clark National Park, Alaska.

Horned puffin in flight. Thanks for the great response yesterday to the opening for the Alaska Bear Photo Tour – those spots went quickly.

My two Alaska Bear and Puffin Photo Tours have been full for a long time. However, last weekend we had two unexpected cancellations, and that has opened up two spots on trip number 1, June 20-26, 2025. I have been visiting this location in Lake Clark National Park for 17 years now, and it never disappoints! These are just a couple photos from the area. Beside bears, we see lots of puffin and eagles.

Just hanging out! Brown bear, Lake Clark National Park, Alaska.
