Where is the bear?

Lupine fields, Lake Clark National Park, Alaska.

Where is the bear? On my Alaska Bear Photo Tour this past June, every time a bear appeared to be heading towards this field of lupine, we would hurry over in get into position for a photo! Unfortunately, we never did have a bear pass through this field. For whatever reason, the bears would always skirt around the edge. Worth the gamble!

Black bear, Anan Wildlife Observatory Site, Tongass National Forest, Alaska.

When the bears pass by the viewing area at Anan Creek checking out the humans, I feel like I’m the one on exhibit like in a zoo and the bears are the ones free to come and go at will. Rolls reversed LOL. Last August, near Wrangell, Alaska. Olypmus E-1MX and 40-150mm lens at 90mm. F/2.8, 1/250th shutter ISO 800. #getolympus

The bears at Anan like to use the old fallen trees as “trails” up and down the steep hillside.
