Home from a fantastic Katmai Bear Photo Tour! We saw so many bears chase down salmon – well more than 100, and it never gets old seeing a bear charging towards you as it pursues a salmon!

Here is a sow and cub captured during my Bear and Whale trip. I am now in Kodiak. In the morning I begin my final Alaska Photo Tour of the year as I head to the Katmai Coast for a week for lots more brown bear photography! I probably won’t share anything here for a week, but should have some fun stuff once I return! Update: I see this didn’t publish before I departed – I’m now back from Katmai with lots to share!

We found this iceberg in Tracy Arm, this is about a 20 foot by 20 foot section. Sure has some interesting patterns!

A bald eagle photographed last week during my Anan / Wrangell Alaska Photo Tour.

I think Anan is the most scenic bear viewing location in Alaska so I often try to include some of that scenery in my bear photos.

I’m back home from almost three weeks of amazing photography! Lots to share over the coming days. We were fortunate to see cooperative feeding humpback whales multiple times on both my Alaska Bear and Whale Photo Tours
