I think cholla cactus look great when back-lit. I can speak from experience, these things are no fun to remove from an arm! I now give them a wide berth.

great light Ron. It is amazing how those spines end up on you w/o knowing it. The one time I phtoographed them, they were deep inside my boots and took days to get out.

I thinking that is why they are sometimes referred to as jumping cholla – it seems like that can get on you without even being touched! It seems like they must jump when you aren’t looking. 🙂
