Coatimundi! Another exciting new visitor this morning! Coati have shown up on my game cam at night a few times, but this is the first time I have seen one here. We saw them in Costa Rica, but it is cool they are here in Arizona too.  There is a lot going on out in the desert that doesn’t always meet the eye.

My feeders have proven to be squirrel proof, but evidently not fox proof. I raised it – the little platform is about feet in the air.

A covy of Gambel’s Quail visits our feeders a couple of times a day.  I love seeing them marching out of the wash in a single file line on their way to breakfast.  I also love hearing their unique call echo in the hills behind our camp.

This is my normal sunset view.  It is raining yet again, with 3 storms total forecast over the next 6 days – this is the kind of wet weather most people thought the West would see last winter, not this one.  I’m not complaining, love the rain in the desert!
