Below you'll find a list of all posts that have been categorized as “Alaska”

Wonderful to be home from a great trip! This is a polar bear on a hot summer evening last week in the Alaska Arctic. Last year on this same date, I had snow. This year I was often in a short sleeve t-shirt.
Captured with an Olympus e-1mx, 300 f/4 at f/4, ISO 640 and 1/8,000 of a second.

Home from a quick trip to Kodiak where we had some hot, hazy, crazy weather! One day it hit 87 degrees! Made this seem like even more of a surfers beach then it already was.
We were mainly there to check out restaurants and hotels for next year’s Katmai Bear Photo Tour, Happy to say we have lined up some great spots – I know it is a year away, but already excited for that trip!

This was from one of two wonderful Alaska Brown Bear Photo Tours from this past June. The wildflowers were amazing this year – I have been trying to capture an image of a bear in the lupine for years. This year we had opportunities on both trips! Plus, big boars, eagles, puffin and so much more.
Historically, this has been my most popular trip, and the first to fill. Next year, for whatever reason, it is my only trip not sold out for 2020, we have a few spots left. So, if you want to spend your days close to beautiful Alaska bears, check out the link for more details!
