Here is one more snowshoeing photo.  As you can see, only part of Turnagain Pass receives any sunlight this time of year, and this only lasts for about two hours.  Hopefully the trees will still look like this in March when this area receives hours of great sunlight.

Another photo from last Saturday in the winter wonderland of the Chugach National Forest, Alaska.

About a week ago I wrote of the beautiful snow in Turnagain Pass, and mentioned I would be heading there with my snowshoes on the next nice day.  Well yesterday was that day.  It was a beautiful – well except for the 16 degrees below zero temperature.  I don’t know how much snow is up there, but the Alyeska Ski Resort not far away received 24 feet of snow in December.  I’m sure Turnagain Pass received its fair share.  Read More
