Polar Bear

Polar Bear.

I have many photos from earlier this year that I haven’t had a chance to share – including lots of polar bears, hard to beat polar bears, so I thought I would share another one today.

South Georgia in Black and White

South Georgia.

South Georgia.

Aside from some blue in the iceberg, this scene contained little color to begin with, so I decided to convert it to a black and white, something I normally never do.  It was a fun process, brings back memories from the time spent developing and printing images in a black and white lab.

Heading South – way South! Leave in a couple of hours (Monday) to begin the long journey to Antarctica. South Georgia to be specific. It might be quite here in the meantime.  Can I bring anyone home a penguin?

Alaska Photo Tours

New website for my Alaska photo tours - and more!

New website for my Alaska photo tours – and more!

As our business has evolved over the years we find our photo tour products are becoming a higher priority.  It was clear our current website was not doing our photo tour business justice.

So, for the last two weeks, since returning from Nashville, we have been working on building a new website for just our tours.  This website looks more professional, is much faster, and also responsive, so that it works on phones and tablets.  Take a look:  Alaska photo tours and workshops.

That is the good news.  The bad news, there really aren’t any trips available as they are all full aside from one spot on my recently offered Anza-Borrego Photo Workshop.  I’m doing more trips for other operators, including two trips to Antarctica this winter with Cheeseman’s Ecology Tours, so that has limited my time.  But I have some fun things planned for 2017, including a visit to the island with not only a decent population of brown bears, but also the largest brown bears on earth!  Hint, it isn’t Kodiak – stayed tuned.

Now time to get ready for Antarctica!  Thanks!
