Campsite way above the Spencer Glacier, Chugach National Forest, Alaska.

We have spent the last few days up in the mountain above Spencer Glacier – you can see Janine relaxing in camp. More details to come, but fun hanging with Patrick Endres.

Meares Glacier, Prince William Sound, Alaska.

Meares Glacier, one of the few that has actually advanced in recent years.  It can be hard to capture calving events, as the falling snow and ice can get lost against the face of the glacier.  I think it helped to be looking down the face from shore instead of straight on from a boat.
