Last week we had an amazing evening surrounded by lunge feeding humpbacks, right at sunset with a full moon!  It was a magical evening – we stayed with the whales until dark.

Back from an awesome Alaska bear and whale photo tour!  Fun group.  Great bears at Anan, probably the most beautiful bear viewing place I have visited.  Great brown bear on Baranof Island – I counted 18 at one time, there must have been 25 plus where we visited.  We had sunshine for Tracy Arm.  But the highlight had to be lunge feeding humpbacks under a sunset sky with a near full moon!  More photos to follow.

Being at home for the past month has allowed me to get caught up on a year and a half back-log of editing, captioning and key-wording.  Now that I’m getting caught up, thought I would share some new photos that have been adjusted for the first time.

I don’t think I have ever seen brown and black bears feeding in such close proximity to each other as I did at Anan last Summer where we had 4 of each fishing at the same time!  However, when the brown bears got close, the black bears would usually retreat a bit into rock caves like this one.  Looking forward to getting back down there next week!

This is just a portion of a huge iceberg from last March – it was loaded with arches, the most amazing iceberg I have ever seen!
