Adelie Penguin
This year we had some fresh snow – perfect for portrait photos like this cute little Adelie Penguin!
Here are Antarctica photos from last years trip.

King Penguin
Yesterday I shared a photo that showed a portion of a king penguin colony estimated to have over 150,000 pairs. Today, I thought I would share a portion of just a single penguin. These birds are so colorful, with an endless combinations of colors and patterns – a photographer could spend hours photographing just a single beautiful bird.

St Andrews, South Georgia
Home after long, but wonderful trip! The amount of wildlife we saw at South Georgia was mind boggling. Most people, myself included were overwhelmed by the shear numbers, and when first landing on shore could hardly take it all in! I found myself just staring in disbelief unable to even photograph. You had elephant seals flipping sand into the air, fur seals growling and chasing you, and incredible numbers of king penguins like you see here. Never mind the stunning scenery of rivers, mountains and glaciers – it is an incredible place! I have plenty more to share in the weeks to come.

Sunset last night, Resurrection Bay, Seward, Alaska.
It is Tuesday morning. I leave in a couple of hours for Southern Argentina and ultimately Antarctica. So I hit the road Thursday morning and don’t arrive in Ushuaia, Argentina 7:30 Friday night – that is a lot of travel, especially for someone who has trouble sitting still while getting a hair cut!
