Autumn in the Brooks Range, Alaska.

Autumn comes early in the Brooks Range – this was at the end of August.  So does winter.  It was still August when I encountered 18 degree temperatures and blowing snow in Atigun Pass just north of where this image was captured!  That is too early for winter!

Back from another amazing polar bear trip!  The drive up and back was uneventful, especially compared to the one earlier this month, but wow, the polar bears more than made up for it!
