Polar bear playing with a stick, Alaska Arctic.

Back from another great polar bear trip!  Had everything from aurora to a black wolf, but polar bears are always the highlight!  Sometimes it is hard to believe such a playful animal can be dangerous – they are often playing with sticks or other objects they find.  I was splitting the guiding duties this trip, and seemed to have bad timing when it came to good light – but the guests came away with some awesome images including glowing light, sunset light and play fighting!

Here is an aurora from last week’s polar bear trip.  Take off again today for a second trip – sure hope it is as good as the last!  I actually missed the best aurora show since it happened the first night, I was busy helping clients – but we got a great round two!

That fall colors are looking great right now up North!  This was from Tuesday.

Back for two full days after guiding an awesome trip to the Arctic!  The autumn colors were outstanding.  We had two awesome nights, and one average night with aurora.  But, as always, the polar bears are the highlight including this sow nursing her young cub.

It still looks like summer in Seward, so it is hard to believe when I fly North in the morning that I will be heading into Autumn!  This is from the same polar bear trip last year.
