I have received a lot of questions about the mother’s whereabouts when I shared the photos of the moose calf twins – I should have mentioned this from the beginning, she was very nearby feeding on alders and keeping a close eye on her little twins. This was captured shortly after the last image.
I’m back home in Alaska for a quick minute taking care of some business and couldn’t resist taking a photo of another beautiful sunrise over Mt. Alice! This was from a couple of minutes ago. I literally photographed this out the front door of the home office in my socks – not all photography has to be hard. 🙂
Although most of our summer is full, we do have a few spots remaining including one of my most popular trips, the Southeast Alaska Bear and Whale Photo Tour.
This trip has it all, amazing scenery including tide water glaciers. Fantastic brown bear viewing including the Pack Creek Bear Observatory. And whale and marine mammal viewing on almost everyday of this trip! All on a very comfortable 87 foot yacht.

This was captured early one morning on one of my Alaska bear photo tours. We were the only ones out in the field that morning which is an extra treat. We spotted the sow with two cubs from the lodge and made the short walk to them and had just got set up when one of the cubs climbed onto it’s mom’s back! Plus, they were even facing the rising sun! A memorable morning for sure.
