Well if you follow this blog, you know how excited I was to be back in Alaska for some great winter weather. Well unfortunately, highs in the upper 40’s and 6 inches of rain put an end to winter this week – we received 2 inches of rain on Thanksgiving day alone.
So we decided to take advantage of the bad weather and the holiday weekend to take our office down and paint it. Then we decided we didn’t like the new color, and painted it again. 🙂 It helps having a mom who is an artist to bail us out with color selection! So now we are back in business.

Sounds like you have had a productive week Ron. After the trip you had, I’d probably need a day or two in bed to recover. Your mom has awesome art work! great photo btw.

Hey thanks Richard. Yeah, we have managed to sleep in a bit now that we are home. It is a little harder getting up when it is still dark out.

Hey Ron,
Painting, eh? Well, I’m sure glad I didn’t head on down to visit you. 🙂 Let me know when all the painting is finished, it’s dry and warm and sunny. June maybe?
Cheers
Carl
Ron and Janine;
We enjoyed the quick trip to Seward to help select paint colors. The place is going to look awesome when you are finished!

We have an extra roller just for you Carl 🙂 !
Hello, I was admiring your images from Zion. I’m heading off there in 2.5 weeks. I have a Nikon D7000 and was wondering what might be a great landscape lens to purchase. Perhaps a UWA on some sort. I currently have a 24-70, a 50, and an older 28-105. Thanks a ton. Also, is there a good means to calculate hyper focal distance. I find it all a bit confounding.
Thanks for you time,
Steven from Philadelphia, PA
