Such a treat to listen to and watch this Western screech-owl who nest near our driveway. It rarely pops its head out until it is a bit darker, but a couple of days ago he made an appearance a good half hour or more before sunset so I was able to capture this photo. This was at our Desert Photo Retreat.

How on earth do you ever find all the birds, especially, first to see them, then get them to pose for you in the most beautiful settings?

Thanks Arlene. This one took awhile. I had been hearing it for days, and knew it couldn’t be far away. I kept looking and eventually got lucky.
